It really did not take Alex O’Loughlin too long to bounce back, did it? He’s on TV again this fall in the medical series, Three Rivers. Truthfully, I’m not a huge fan of the genre. The only medical tv show that I watch is House and that’s mostly because I enjoy Hugh Laurie’s snark. But even that show I frequently think about abandoning. However, I do believe that I will at least check out Three Rivers for a few episodes. I really love Alex… as you probably know. I just wish it were a cop show or something LOL I know, we have enough of those, but enough is never too much as far as I’m concerned.
Last television season I was all about Alex O’Loughlin on Moonlight. Since Moonlight is cancelled, I expect this season I’ll be raving for another Australian actor — Simon Baker! He’ll be starring in The Mentalist this Fall on CBS. Tuesday nights right after NCIS.
I got a chance to watch the pilot the other day and you can check out my review of The Mentalist tv series before it premieres on Sept. 23rd.
According to the latest news from the gossip blogs, Moonlight has been officially cancelled by CBS and it looks like it isn’t headed anywhere else either. Deadline Hollywood Daily has the best reporting on the scoop and you can also read Alex O’Loughlin’s message about the cancellation on his MySpace blog.
So that’s a couple of my favorite shows gone this season as both New Amsterdam and Journeyman are cancelled as well. Journeyman I’m not sure I will miss so much. It was good, but I feel like they left a lot on the table. It just wasn’t as compelling as I’d hoped. New Amsterdam, on the other hand, had really won me over and I just loved all of the flashback scenes so much. I hate to see that show go!
While I don’t think this is a great news, I’m honestly not too worried about how things will wind up going for Alex O’Loughlin. He seems to be pretty popular with the CBS execs and so I think he will land on his feet. He’s a talented actor and he’s already done pretty well for himself on US shores, so I think that will continue. I would be willing to bet that CBS will have a new show for him as soon as next season.
I haven’t had a lot of time the past couple of weeks to make many posts here as I’m busy planning at trip, but I promise I will be back in action soon with hot drooling Aussie man love. In the meantime, check out my friend Isa’s page on the Five Sexiest Englishmen. I heartily concur on some of her choices, particularly Clive Owen (yummy) and Daniel Craig.
Also, 3:10 to Yuma is out on DVD today, so if you like Russell Crowe and Christian Bale, you should read my review of 3:10 to Yuma and grab yourself a copy of the DVD (preferably from my page, yo!)
Funnily enough, some of my favorite Aussies were born British, as I’m sure many of you know.
Found this vid on Youtube while watching Eric Bana comedy videos from his time on Full Frontal. Here’s lots of fun clips of some of our favorite Australian actors — Eric Bana, Russell Crowe, Heath Ledger, etc. Enjoy!
I’ve now set comments so they’ll be approved immediately. We’ll see how that goes with the spam situation. I’m going to find a nice spam blocker to deal with them
But feel free to post comments on any of the posts. I read them all!
Alex O’Loughlin is in TV Guide magazine again. There’s a short interview/profile of him and this stunning photograph. SpoilerTV has the full-size image, along with a scan of the article itself, so you’ll want to run over there and save it onto your hard drive right quick!
New shots of Batman & The Joker! More new photos of Heath Ledger as the Joker and one new pic of Christian Bale as Batman. I think Heath’s Joker is going to be wonderfully creepy. I cannot wait to see this movie.
Okay, when I first heard about Alex going to the charity drive thingy, I actually toyed with the idea of pricelining some airline tickets and just heading out to LA for the weekend. Then I decided I should be responsible. Well, stupid, stupid me! Never again. Next time I am going if he does something
Anyway… there are lots of great pics to be had. This one I’m posting is courtesy Alex-O.net and they have a small gallery of photos to share, and also you should head over to the Alex O’Loughlin Charity Toy Drive thread at Moonlightline.com for Leeser’s report AND photos. Mmmm, that man is just ridiculously attractive.
Stunningly creepy is the only way to describe this new image of Heath Ledger as The Joker. I seriously cannot wait to see this movie. The latest issue of Empire magazine has the scoop. UK residents should be able to pick it up shortly and it’ll land on US shores soon thereafter.
Empire: Magazine As our world exclusive cover image attests, The Dark Knight’s incarnation of The Joker promises to be one of the greatest, most ruthless, evil and downright terrifying movie criminals of all time.
Or, in the words of the man playing him, Heath Ledger, “a psychopath, a sociopath, a cold-blooded, mass-murdering clown”. There are many characters who will make 2008 a year of cinema to remember, but from the look of it as well as the sound of it, in our on-set interview with The Dark Knight’s key players none will make a more indelible impact. July 25, 2008 can’t come soon enough!
